Vodafone Hutchison in direct control of retail

VHA media representative said the stores to be affected are First Mobile, Digicall, Inside Mobile and GSM.

Around 1400 retail store staff, store managers and regional territory managers currently employed by the mobile phone retailers will be offered VHA employment contracts in accordance with their current terms and conditions.

The media representative said the move will allow the company to own and operate its national, Vodafone-branded retail environment, providing the company with a more direct connection with its customers.

"VHA considers in the competitive marketplace, this move will better position VHA to provide a more cohesive, consistent Vodafone customer experience," they said.
