Vocus names ex-Holden CIO Julie Fahey to board

Vocus has named former GM Holden chief information officer Julie Fahey as non-executive director, rounding out the telco’s board to eight members.

Fahey was CIO to the now automobile importer and former manufacturer from 2003 to 2007, leading its information systems and services division.

"Julie’s depth of experience in technology and transformation gained over many years, in both executive and non-executive capacities, will be extremely valuable to the company.”

Fahey most recently served as KPMG’s national managing partner for markets & national lead partner for telecommunications, media & technology up until her early retirement in 2014.

Prior to her posts at Holden and KPMG, she also served as deputy managing director of SAP Australia and New Zealand from 1998 to 2002.

Fahey is currently undertaking independent engagements as a consultant and adviser to corporations and state government entities in relation to transformation programs and IT capability.

She is also on the boards of Datacom, Seek.com, software vendor IRESS Australia, and non-profit organisation Yooralla.
