Victorian Ombudsman releases EOI for managed IT services

The Victorian Ombudsman has released an expression of interest (EOI) for the supply of  managed IT services.

The organisation is an independent officer of the Victorian Parliament and is responsible for ensuring that the the decisions and actions of Victorian government bodies are fair and are up to highest possible standards of public sector service delivery.

Currently, most of the organisation’s Information Technology services are delivered and managed by a MSP, while some core applications, services and capability are managed by the organisation’s internal IT team.

The Ombudsman also maintains a small on-premise infrastructure environment.

As the current MSP contract is nearing expiry, and in accordance with Victorian Government procurement guidelines, an approach to market is required, with the purpose of this EOI being to undertake a preliminary market analysis to gauge interest in delivering, managing and supporting the organisation’s IT services.

With an organisational focus on operational and customer service excellence, the organisation seeks to strengthen its IT operating model and to deliver value for money, fit for purpose, customer focused IT operational services, as well as extending its capacity to deliver strategic outcomes using technology and data.

The IT managed services will deliver core infrastructure/hosting, network and voice services, IT service management, identity and access management, endpoint device management, M365 environment management, disaster recovery and transition in and out services.

The EOI constitutes the first stage of a two-stage process to identify shortlisted respondents who may be invited to participate in a subsequent procurement phase.

The closing date for the EOI is 11.59pm on 15 February 2026.
