The Victorian Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) has released a tender for the provision of a data governance platform and associated services.
The DTP brings together transport, planning, land, precinct and policy functions within a single department, responsible for planning, building, operating, and maintaining Victoria’s transport, planning and land services.
The Department is currently operating a data governance platform, which is intended to be replaced by the proposed solution that will help manage and govern its data assets.
The product must assist and capture essential information about key data assets, including data governance roles and metadata, as well as establish workflows to manage data asset information, information security assessment and data sharing and release agreements effectively, enabling responsible users to intuitively oversee and maintain their data.
The proposed solution must also provide the capability to connect with key data and reporting platforms, as well as various file formats, to retrieve technical lineage and metadata; implement and monitor data quality measures for data assets, empowering users to understand the quality of the data utilised within the Department; and develop and report on key data governance KPIs to track divisional accountability and responsibility in managing data assets.
In addition, requirements also include the product being delivered as a SaaS web-based solution; supporting bulk inserts and updates to facilitate the seamless migration of data governance information from the legacy platform; capable of connecting to, retrieving, and updating data (preferably through an API endpoint) to enable integration with other platforms within the Department; and supporting single sign-on (SSO) integration.
This engagement will be for an initial term of three years, with the option to extend for two additional one-year periods.
The intended contract commencement date will be in early October 2025.
The close date for the tender is 4 September 2025 at 2:00PM.
