VIC govt brings in state purchase contract for ServiceNow

The Victorian government has established a three-year State Purchase Contract with ServiceNow to streamline digital transformation across its agencies.

The agreement with the Department of Government Services will simplify procurement of ServiceNow's cloud products and services.

These include IT service, operations, customer service, field service, asset management and professional services.

"ServiceNow and the Victorian Government have a longstanding relationship and this SPC will lead to a new era of efficiency, innovation and productivity for the government and citizens of Victoria," said Barry Dietrich, managing director of ServiceNow Australia and New Zealand.

More than 100 Victorian government agencies and departments will gain access to standardised terms and conditions under the contract.

The deal aims to create consistent adoption of the Now Platform across government by establishing a VicGov ServiceNow CIO Forum and ServiceNow Centre of Excellence.

Key benefits listed include a simple way to procure ServiceNow products with agreed contract terms, with cost-effective discounts across the Victorian government.

Access to a secure cloud environment, and the ability to add further ServiceNow products as required are two other benefits of the state purchase contract.

Smaller government agencies will benefit from the same access and terms previously only available to larger organisations.

The contract builds on existing relationships between ServiceNow and dozens of Victorian government departments already using the platform.

As part of the agreement, both parties have committed to investing in digital skills development across Victoria through ServiceNow's training programmes.

The deal focuses on improving how Victorian citizens and businesses interact with government services through digital transformation.

Victoria's contract with ServiceNow begins on November 13 this year, and ends on November 12, 2026.
