Australian-owned C1 Consulting has been sold to TouchStar, a mobility device software developer for an undisclosed sum.

C1 develops software and provides consultion for mobility devices to a range of technology and engineering industries.

Peter Gibbs, chief executive officer of TouchStar said the acquisition gives it access to C1 Mobile - a software product for fleet management.

"C1 possesses a talented development team and has a track-record in innovation and delivering successful mobile computing solutions" he said.

"'Its operation strongly complements our own activities and we will be able to harness each other's capabilities, expertise and client base."

Gibbs claimed the acquisition will also help strengthen the company's position in the mobile computing and field workforce automation space.

'Over the next few months we will focus on fully integrating the capabilities into the portfolio,' he said.

He told CRN the purchase of C1 will add 15,000 online customers onto its books.

TouchStar develops a range of software solutions for mobile and handheld devices.
