Toshiba goes wireless with Bigpond

Justin White, product marketing manager, specialised segments at Toshiba Information Systems Division, said Toshiba’s Portégé M700 tablet PC, Tecra M9 will include built-in Bigpond Coverage through Telstra's Next G network.

According to White, the Portégé R500’s features will include an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor ULV U7700 at 1.3GHz, 1GB memory, a 160GB hard drive and a 12.1 inch widescreen. In terms of operating software, Windows Vista Business with Windows XP Pro Media Downgrade will be offered. The model will be available with or without optical starting from 887 grams.

The higher-end Portégé M700 sports a 12.1 inch widescreen and includes a 2.4ghz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T8300, 2GB of memory, a 160GB hard drive and Windows Vista Business with Windows XP Pro Media Downgrade. It will weight only 2kgs.

White said that the Portégé M9 will act as a desktop replacement for people who spend a lot of time on the move. Its features include an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T8100 at 2.1GHz, 1GB memory, a 120GB hard drive and a 14.1 inch widescreen. Once again Windows Vista Business with Windows XP Pro Media Downgrade will be included. The M9 will weigh from 2.47kgs.

"The Portégé R400, Portégé R500, Portégé M700 and Tecra M9 will be available via Toshiba authorised retailers, resellers and distributors,” said White.
