Telstra snares Microsoft partner director

Microsoft Australia partner strategy and programs director Inese Kingsmill is headed for Telstra after 16 years with the software giant.

Kingsmill (pictured) will join the telco as director of business unit marketing and communications in its chief marketing office next month.

George Stavrakakis, partner director at Microsoft Australia, said after a "16 year career at Microsoft, Inese has made the difficult decision to pursue external opportunities".

"We thank Inese for all her hard work and commitment during her tenure and wish her all the best in her future endeavours.

"We'll be working with the team over the coming weeks to appoint a suitable replacement to help ensure we continue to engage, excite and drive the channel through our newly invigorated Microsoft Partner Network."

Since joining in 1994, Kingsmill has held Australian and regional roles within Microsoft's marketing team including small and mid-market business director.

Last year, Kingsmill moved to reassure Microsoft partners after it announced an overhaul of its partner program.

Meanwhile, Telstra's director of brand and advertising Chantal Walker has resigned.
