Telstra and Optus are both offering $250 in credit to customers who change their Samsung Galaxy Note7 plans over to a new plan with a different phone, in addition to refunding any device repayment charges so far incurred and waiving early contract termination fees.
Galaxy Note7 devices were recalled in Australia in September after Samsung officially revealed a battery issue was causing some phones to catch fire while charging. The replacement devices Samsung rolled out following the first recall also suffered from the issue.
To receive a $250 credit, customers of both Telstra and Optus must change their respective Galaxy Note7 contract over to a Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 Edge plan.
An update on the Optus website said customers could return the device in any condition, and original packaging and accessories were not required.
