Niche tablet distributor Tegatech Australia will be making available second generation Ultra Mobile Portable Computers (UMPC) to resellers, thanks to its exclusive agreement with Samsung and with Raon Digital.
Authorised resellers will now be able to get their hands on Samsung’s Q1 Ultra and Raon’s HSDPA ready EVERUN.
Hugo Ortega, principal at Tegatech said its main goal is to provide resellers with products that address many of the first generation quirks.
He told CRN that first generation products have issues including, everything from battery issues to input concerns and difficulty in typing and very poor readable screens – when out in sunlight.
“The second generation of products address these problems, with new functionality like in built QUIRTY keyboards. These products also include Telstra approved SIM card for WAN access,” he said.
“I think resellers need to move to the second generation of products because they represent many hours of Research and Development from our OEM Partners and bring to market new and improved “true” Second Generation UMPC.”
