Tegatech will offer the Avox Ultra Mobile PC to the Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ) marketplace. According to Hugo Ortega, principal, Tegatech Australia, the relationship is advantageous to both parties.
“The deal allows us to continue our primary focus, which is to be the leading Tablet PC and UMPC source in Australia,” said Ortega. “Ruvo has another three product releases coming up that we will have access to, and in turn they will have access to our extensive reseller channel.”
Ortega claimed there is significant sales potential for Tegatech’s reseller partners. He cites the product features as well as the price of the UMPC offering as conducive to current demand in this market.
“It’s a low cost, high spec device that is hovering around the $1,000 retail price mark,” said Ortega. “The pipedream that you can buy a UMPC for around a grand is becoming a reality.”
Purely focused on UMPCs and Tablet PCs, Ortega commented that Tegatech will remain specific to capitalise on growth in this sector. He also claimed a trend is emerging that is seeing hardware vendors incorporate tablet features into their notebooks.
“We see this as a massive growth market and our resellers are landing nice size projects,” said Ortega. “The Avox itself is feature packed and will do well in the mobile space which will in turn help us expand.”
