Tech Data signs distribution agreement with cybersecurity vendor Deep Instinct

Israel-based cybersecurity software provider Deep Instinct has signed Tech Data as its distributor for both Australia and New Zealand and for Southeast Asia.

The company, which launched its Australian business last year, provides deep learning-equipped cybersecurity solutions using a proprietary neural network that draws inspiration from the human brain’s ability to learn, to scan datasets and accurately protect against threats.

“We work with thousands of businesses and know that cybersecurity remains their biggest concern – largely because they are dealing with the unknown and no longer have confidence that traditional security solutions can protect against that,” Tech Data Asia-Pacific president William Chu said.

“Working with Deep Instinct, and in the face of increasingly sophisticated threats, we can now combine our expertise with security technology that goes beyond the limitations of machine learning to deliver ground-breaking prevention for customers - before it’s too late.”

Deep Instinct said the move comes as demand for its solutions are increasing, particularly across the banking and finance, manufacturing and education sectors.

The company also announced new product capabilities, including a Mac OS compatible solution, advanced endpoint protection features and additional value-added threat intelligence services.

“Organisations are required to be more accountable than ever before when it comes to protecting data, yet they’re in an arms race, of sorts, to defend against unknown threats,” Deep Instinct Asia Pacific senior vice president Stuart Fisher said.

“It’s no longer a choice, but an operational imperative, to deploy predictive AI algorithms that deliver autonomous cyber protection — it’s the only effective line of defence that businesses can depend on and our fast-paced growth across the region is proof of that.”

Deep Instinct also announced new hires within APAC, with former Dell EMC security specialist Mark Arapovic joining as sales engineer based in Sydney, and Molly Ng as APAC field marketing manager in Singapore.
