Tecala adds Lionel Ong as principal consultant

Tecala has added Lionel Ong to the team in the role of principal consultant.

He joins after having served as the cloud specialist for Azure & Modern Work at FUJIFILM Business Innovation Australia.

Prior to this, he's also held positions at Quorum, ASI Solutions, Harbour IT, NetApp, Acronis, Dell and Computer Sciences Corporation.

He joins Tecala to lead cloud-first modernisation with Microsoft technologies, combined with a 'right cloud' approach that spans public cloud, hybrid, and Tecala Private Cloud.

Ong will be tasked with strengthening Tecala’s Microsoft Cloud solution offerings across Azure, Modern Work, Security, and Data, aiming to help customers modernise, optimise, and secure their environments.

"What drew me to Tecala is the frontier mindset, with innovation at the heart," he said in a post on LinkedIn.

"It’s a place where curiosity meets collaboration. Over the past few days, I’ve already had fruitful conversations with a brilliant, like-minded, and supportive team."

Tecala positions itself as a Microsoft partner delivering end-to-end services, from advisory and architecture through to implementation and managed services, and currently holds five Microsoft Solutions Partner Designations.

Tecala won the Customer Experience Award at the 2025 techpartner.news Impact Awards for automating the quote generation process for fintech IQumulate.
