TAFE QLD seeking out of hours SOC coverage

TAFE Queensland has released an Invitation to Offer to procure out of hours (OOH) Security Operations Centre (SOC) coverage to support its threat detection and response function.

The service will operate from 5:00PM to 8:00AM Monday to Friday, and 24 hours on weekends and statewide (QLD) public holidays, complementing the internal SOC team’s business-hours operations.

The OOH SOC will utilise TAFE Queensland’s existing Microsoft Sentinel and Microsoft Defender eXtended Detection and Response (XDR) platforms to perform continuous monitoring, triage, and initial response activities in line with established standard operating procedures, and playbooks.

In scope services include continuous monitoring of security alerts and incidents generated within Microsoft Sentinel and Defender XDR during the OOH period; initial triage and investigation of all alerts and incidents; and resolution and closure of S3 and S4 incidents.

It also includes immediate escalation of all suspected S1 and S2 incidents; documentation of all triage actions, findings, and closures within Microsoft Sentinel; and communication and handover reporting at the start of each business day to ensure continuity of operations.

TAFE Queensland also issued the Invitation to Offer with the objectives of increasing visibility of cyber security threats 24/7; providing a faster reaction time to cyber security threats; and better protection of TAFE Queensland’s systems.

Offers must be lodged by 2.00PM AEST on Friday 12 December 2025.
