Sydney-based Outcomex has won a $4.8 million Cisco software licensing agreement with TAFE New South Wales.
The new agreement is for three years, and is the first of its kind for the educational institution, giving it access to Cisco’s full security portfolio.
“A holistic approach to security management was required and therefore Outcomex and Cisco pitched the concept of a security enterprise licensing agreement, which allows access to the full portfolio of security products,” a spokesperson from Outcomex told CRN.
“In addressing and meeting the business requirements, multiple point solutions are being integrated, from various products under a reference design and single vendor architecture.”
Specifically, the contract includes Cisco's Umbrella insights, AnyConnect and Firepower, as well as Cloud Email, Cloud Web, Content Security Management and CTA.
This agreement is Outcomex’s latest with an educational provider, having worked with the likes of Swinburne University, University of Sydney, Western Sydney University and a number of private schools around NSW and Victoria in the past.
In March 2017, the Cisco partner worked with Sydney-based College of Law with a deployment of an advanced malware protection (AMP) solution, after the institution had been plagued with multiple ransomware attacks.
Earlier this year, Outcomex was highly commended in the 2018 CRN Impact Awards for its IoT efforts with Bathurst-based farm Llanelli, in which it deployed a solution that helped count sheep and monitor water levels in dams and tanks across the 1300-acre property.
