Synnex is targeting education resellers with a suite of clever device storage cabinets that charge and secure dozens of devices - and can even sync teaching materials to student machines.

The distributor's newest vendor is Aver, a Taiwanese manufacturer of carts and cabinets into which users can stack popular classroom devices, such as iPads, Chromebooks and Microsoft Surface hybrids.

Each device can be plugged in to charge within the securely locked cabinet, while some models also allow teachers to sync course materials onto student devices.

The smallest model, the L12u, accommodates 12 devices. The largest, the S40i, takes up to 40 machines.

Synnex product director Jay Ko told CRN: "We have had a good interest from Apple education resellers but [the Aver cabinets] also charge Chromebooks and Surface, so we see an opportunity in a larger market."

Synnex and Aver inked the deal around two weeks ago, with the first official appearance at the Synnex Alliance roadshow, which wrapped up in Sydney last night after stopping in at Brisbane, Perth and Melbourne.

Aver joins a bevy of new vendors to come under the Synnex umbrella in the past year. New or expanded partnerships on show at this year's Synnex Alliance included Vodafone, Corsair, Huawei, Hewlett-Packard Enterprise and Apple.
