Synnex signs Oki

Oki Data has announced a new distribution partnership with Synnex less than a month after it acquired its former local distributor IPL Datron.

Synnex will distribute Oki's hardware products and consumables across the country and help grow its colour page printer share to 10 percent by 2011.

"This is a very exciting time for Oki," said Graham Harman, general manager OKI Data Corporation.

Oki Data, also known as OKI,  opened an Australian sales office after it purchased the assets from IPL Datron last month after a 27 years partnership

Harman said Synnex has its own fleet of trucks and state based warehouses, making them "the ideal partner to [help] Oki grow its market share."

Oki's national reach is "incredibly important", he said.

"The Australian market provides huge opportunities for us and I'm very pleased that we are now fully supported and owned here.

Kee Ong, CEO at Synnex Australia said Oki is one of the top colour printer manufacturers in the world and he welcomed the opportunity to be part of the vendor's growth in Australia.

The distributor has also recently signed up Brother, Eaton, Navigon, Gateway, Hybrid Television Services, Bullguard, Steelseries and Samsung.
