Synnex signs 'lifestyle' company Aiptek

Synnex has upped its cool factor by becoming the master distributor for Taiwanese 'digital lifestyle' manufactuer Aiptek.

The simian-sounding Aiptek is actually an acronym for 'affordable innovative personal technology'.

The company specialises in accessories for 'mobile enhancement' including projectors, camcorders and a range of other digital products often found outdoors.

Synnex product manager Jay Ko said Australians loved their mobile devices and were looking for more things to plug into them.

Aiptek boss Frank Shue said the company's products can "snapshot all the special moments during driving, cycling, swimming". But Ko stressed it's not all fun and games.

“These applications are not limited to consumers but also for business people," he said, adding these special moments can project to a screen size up to 60” instantly anytime , anywhere with up to 50 lumens from one of our compact MobileCinema devices".

Aiptek claims kudos as having invented the world's first 'pen-type' digital camera, fully HD camcorder and pico, ala 'very small',  projector; products which it already sells in Europe, China, Taiwan and the US.

Following the agreement announced with Synnex today local mobile enthusiasts can now buy Aiptek's MobileCinema, PocketCinema, SportyCam and Car Camcorder products from Harvey Norman, Officeworks and other big retailers.
