Symantec loses Veritas channel boss to Dell
Klasie Holtzhausen

Veritas Asia-Pacific channel lead and former Symantec channel boss Klasie Holtzhausen has been appointed Dell Software's general manager for Australia and New Zealand.

A Veritas spokesperson confirmed Holtzhausen's departure to CRN, saying that he "left Symantec to pursue other opportunities".

"The company has begun an executive search for a permanent replacement and in the interim, Mark Nutt, Veritas’ global channel lead, will bring his extensive international channel expertise to the role."

Dell Software Asia-Pacific general manager Brenton Smith, himself a defector from Symantec, said: "We are delighted to appoint Klasie as general manager of Dell Software ANZ."

Holtzhausen used to report to Smith at Symantec, who left his post as Pacific managing director at the end of last year.

"[Holtzhausen] has a huge amount of experience within the enterprise IT and security sectors," said Smith. "In particular, Klasie brings with him a wealth of channel knowledge, which will prove invaluable as Dell Software continues its momentum in the channel."

Symantec is in the midst of separating its security and data management businesses as Symantec and Veritas.
