Sydney's OrionVM adds WatchGuard to its wholesale cloud platform

Sydney-based infrastructure-as-a-service wholesaler OrionVM has forged a partnership with WatchGuard to offer channel partners network security from the cloud.

OrionVM said the partnership would give its reseller and MSP partners the opportunity bundle network security into their cloud solutions and add another layer of security to virtual instances.

OrionVM's wholesale cloud platform support private, public and hybrid models for its partners to use and resell with full control over white-label rebranding, billing integration and account management.

The addition of WatchGuard allows OrionVM's partners to leverage an out-of-the-box cloud offering with WatchGuard's unified threat management firewall soliton and layered security services. Partners can deploy WatchGuard's templates directly on virtual IPs, which OrionVM said was missing from its competitor's platforms that force a specific firewall solution.

"Virtual environments are complex to manage and vulnerable to security threats," WatchGuard technical director Danny Banks said.

"With WatchGuard, virtualised environments can be just as secure as physical ones by taking advantage of the same security services, such as real-time monitoring, multi-WAN support and more, to fit any-sized business. For partners, adding these capabilities is easy, cost-effective, and flexible.”

OrionVM will sell a start pack starting at $499 for $1000 credit with the option to add security from WatchGuard as an add-on.

The company was named as a finalist in the 2018 CRN Impact Awards in the 'Exporting Innovation' category for its wholesale cloud platform, which leverages a hyper-converged suite of virtual storage, compute, orchestration and virtual networking to deliver wholesale cloud solutions cheaply.
