Sydney-based telco Astrotel will have a new Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) cloud-based service from network-infrastructure-on-demand (NIOD) provider Alkira to resell, the Australian company said.
Alkira's ZTNA security service is aimed at enterprises to help manage secure access across distributed workforces, and multi-cloud environment, addressing limitations and weaknesses in traditional virtual private networks.
The platform operates through distributed points of presence called Cloud Exchange Points, managing traffic flows between users, applications and internet services through a single interface.
Key features include integrated security stacks, real-time visibility of user sessions and compatibility with existing identity providers and multi-factor authentication systems.
A single pane of glass to simplify management, monitoring and visibilty of networks through the Alkira dashboard is another feature.
ZTNA marks a shift away from conventional perimeter-based security models, with US government agencies prioritising the wider Zero Trust framework.
"Alkira ZTNA revolutionises secure access by combining zero trust principles with network infrastructure expertise," said Manan Shah, senior vice president of products at Alkira.
"In a landscape where many ZTNA solutions focus solely on user-to-app scenarios, Alkira's comprehensive approach stands out," said Shamus McGillicuddy, vice president of research at Enterprise Management Associates.
The Alkira Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) platform is set for release in the fourth quarter of 2024.
Astrotel has exclusive rights for Alkira for the Asia-Pacific region.
