Sydney wireless solutions provider Delion has rolled out the wi-fi and wireless telephone network for fashion designer and entrepreneur Alex Perry’s new hotel and apartments.
The rollout includes 46 Ruckus R600 wireless access points and 140 VoIP wireless telephones.
In addition, Delion laid its own dark fibre connection with burst capabilities up to 1 GB to connect Alex Perry Hotel into its data centre.
The 12-floor hotel previously hired another supplier to rollout the network, but wasn’t able to set the network live by the hotel’s opening date.
Delion was approached with three months before opening date to roll out a wireless and telephony solution for the hotel’s guests and back-of-house team.
“We were under such tight time constraints and it was such a unique problem we had,” said Delion sales and marketing director Rob Fleischer.
“We knew that Ruckus would be highly reliable and would work with us to get the system in place in the tight timeframe we needed. Delion is a Ruckus platinum partner and we knew combining the Ruckus access points with the robust Delion software platform meant we were well on the way to a solution for the Alex Perry Hotel.”
The hotel’s priority was to provide speed, reliability and ease of access for guests, as wireless internet access has increasingly become a priority in the hospitality industry.
Alex Perry Hotel revenue and operations manager Ruth Carroll said the access points provide full in-room coverage to guests and corporate customers, as well as supporting back-of-house operations.
“Guest feedback on the ability to easily connect with several devices through the Ruckus network has been very positive. Our guests enjoy a seamless in-room IT experience with both a high speed wi-fi connection (including a generous daily data allowance) and the in-room VoIP wireless telephones,” said Carroll.
In January, Ruckus partner BigAir Group landed a deal to roll out a “significant number” of wireless access points across Western Sydney University’s seven campuses.
