Sydney or Melbourne, asks latest Silicon Valley vendor in Australia
Regional vice president for Rally, Anthony Farr.

Colorado-based Agile solutions provider Rally Software has appointed a regional vice president for the region and opened a second Australian office in Sydney.

The new regional vice president, Anthony Farr, is unsure yet whether he'll be working out of the new Sydney office or the older Melbourne base.

"My family is going on a whirlwind tour over Easter of Sydney and Melbourne to make a decision," Farr told CRN. "Do you have a suggestion?"

The Sydney office adds to the company's existing Asia-Pacific operations in Melbourne and Singapore.

Farr, a former senior partner at G2M Australia, said that personnel expansion is well underway. He said the Melbourne office had four people working in December but that will grow to seven by end of April, plus another six staff will be in Sydney.

"We also recently hired a marketing director," said Farr.

The Australian branches will perform similar duties, with client account teams and Agile coaches present in both cities.

"Anthony has a proven track record of providing leadership for winning account teams," said Rally Software's vice president of international strategy and sales Brendan Walsh. "His skill set and significant expertise will continue to drive recognition and momentum for Rally in Australia.”

Rally provides cloud-based Agile development management software, as well as training and consulting on the development methodology.

"Rally is positioned well in the Australian market to offer not only platforms, but the coaching, support and transformation consulting services that today’s organisations require," said Walsh.

According to the company Australian customers of Rally include MYOB Australia, Telstra, and Australia Post.
