Sydney funeral for Marc Simone held on Friday

A funeral will be held on Friday to celebrate the life of ASI Solutions’ Marc Simone.

Simone was tragically killed last weekend while training for a charity bike ride.

He was planning a 4000km journey in April from the Blue Mountains in western Sydney to Darwin to raise money for homeless children on behalf of Mission Australia.

Simone was a passionate campaigner on youth homelessness and had completed a number of two-wheeled rides for the cause.

He had a target of $100,000 in donations for the four-week bike ride. Prior to his passing, the total stood at $2000, but has ballooned out to $52,000 in the last five days.

His employer, ASI Solutions, has urged people to continue his legacy and donate to the cause through Marc’s Every Day Hero website.

The company is looking to hold a fundraising event in Marc’s honour in late May.

A funeral will be held on Friday at 11am at St Thomas Acquina Church in Springwood, Blue Mountains.
