Staples Australia wins $1.3m deal for police crime scene tech

Sydney-based Staples Australia has been awarded a $1.3 million contract with the NSW Police Force.

The contract is for cameras that will be used by the Forensic Services Group to record crime scenes, a NSW Police spokesperson told CRN.

Cameras of different sizes and specifications from manufacturers Nikon and Olympus will be provided. Camera accessories, such as lenses, are also included in the contract.

The NSW Police Force performed a market engagement through the NSW whole-of-government panel 278 for presentation equipment. The approved suppliers in the panel for camera and accessories include ASI Solutions, Sydney-based Digital Camera Warehouse and OfficeMax.

"Staples Australia was selected for the contract as their plan delivered the best value outcome," a NSWPF spokesperson said.

Karl Sice, head of technology solutions for Staples Australia, said nearly half of the contract had already been delivered with the remainder expected to be delivered before the end of the year.
