Sony has officially announced the follow up to its Xperia S smartphone, unveiling the latest in its Xperia line up.
The Xperia SL has appeared on Sony's website but will be officially launched at the phone maker's IFA event on August 29.
The smartphone will boast a 1.7Ghz Qualcomm dual-core processor, a 4.3in TFT 720p display, and a 12.1MP camera. The display is a 4.3-inch TFT screen with a 1280 x 720 resolution and the capacity to display up to 16 million colours.
The Android-run smartphone won't launch with the latest version of the Google operating system, shipping out of the box with Ice Cream Sandwich. Sony is yet to announce the smartphone's upgrade path to 4.1 Jelly Bean.
