SolarWinds signs Ingram Micro in APAC expansion

US-based IT management software provider SolarWinds has selected Ingram Micro as its second Australian distributor as it moves to expand its presence in the Asia Pacific region.

Ingram will distribute the full range of SolarWinds products, including the network and application management products and the Profiler suite of storage and virtualisation products.

Additionally, the two companies plan to add a "significant number" of resellers to the SolarWinds Synergy Partner Program by the end of 2010.

SolarWinds said the program gives resellers sales and marketing support, training and support services, and is offered in various tiers, based on transactions and certification.

Current resellers include Aquion, Astron Technology and Dimension Data. Solarwinds is still distributing its products through Melbourne-based M.Tech Australia.

Justin Endres, vice president, international sales at SolarWinds, said the Australian market is a "key focus" as it expands into Asia Pacific region.

"It makes sense for us to move forward with a well-respected channel partner with a reputation for strong training, customer education and channel support," he said.

Darren Elsby, group product manager at Ingram Micro Australia said SolarWinds' solutions are "appealing" to Ingram's reseller partners.

"They offer a spot-on blend of affordability, features and ease-of-use from a company with a reputation for solving real-world problems.

"We believe SolarWinds' solutions will be highly complementary to the products and solutions Ingram Micro already distributes in the enterprise technology market," said Elsby.
