Software AG appoints new Australian MD
Software AG's managing director Gordon Gakovic

Frankfurt-headquartered Software AG has appointed Gordon Gakovic as its managing director for its Australia and New Zealand operations.

Based in Melbourne, Gakovic will be responsible in managing and executing Software AG’s commercial initiatives and marketing strategies for the ANZ market and will report to Software AG’s chief operating officer for APAC and Japan region, Stanimira Koleva.

Commenting on the appointment, Koleva said: “Throughout his career, Gordon has demonstrated outstanding leadership and has an excellent track record of helping companies transform their IT infrastructure and grow their business."

She added that she was "confident that his leadership and results-driven approach will serve to further fuel Software AG’s ambitious plans across Australia and New Zealand, and lead the team to new heights".

Gakovic joined Software AG in 2013 as a national sales director and the company said he had been instrumental in growing existing business and creating new revenue streams for the company.

Prior to Software AG, Gakovic served in various positions at Oracle, IBM and EMC.

Software AG also announced the appointment of Michael Cross as its industry solution director and Ron van Rooij as its director for solution business development with responsibilities across the APAC region.

Both will work closely with Koleva and Gakovic to increase the company’s footprint and lead the effort of co-innovation and digital transformation with strategic customers in the APAC and Japan region.

Founded in 1969, Software AG has more than 10,000 enterprise customers in over 70 countries and is the second largest software vendor in Germany and the seventh in Europe.
