Security vendor WatchGuard Technologies appoints Bluechip Infotech as third Australian distributor

Network security vendor WatchGuard Technologies has reached an agreement with Sydney-based Bluechip Infotech to be its third Australian distributor, joining Dicker Data and Exclusive Networks.

The vendor said the appointment came in response to increased demand from small and medium businesses, mid-market and distributed enterprises, while it also looks to further build its channel in Australia.

“WatchGuard is looking to increase sales in Australia this year and our relationship with all three distributors is a key part of that overall growth strategy,” WatchGuard Technologies ANZ regional director Mark Sinclair said.

“Expanding our channel focus to reach more SMB and mid-market enterprise customers with Bluechip Infotech and its channel network of managed service providers will help us accelerate growth moving forward.”

He added that Bluechip’s online marketplace will help deliver and manage the demand of its products to the distributor’s managed service provider client base.

WatchGuard will also provide access to its Learning Centre via its partner portal, in addition to sales training, certification programs and marketing resources.

“WatchGuard’s addition to the Bluechip Infotech business will strengthen our overall offering in the network security space and reinforce our position and ability to service the Australian SMB and mid-market business sector,” Bluechip managing director Johnson Hsiung said.

“We are also excited about the market opportunity which WatchGuard will provide to both our resellers and managed service providers who are always looking for innovative and new solutions to meet changing customer demands.”
