Schneider Electric has named NTT Communications’ Joseph Vijay as its new channel chief to replace Muralee Kanagaratnam, who was promoted to a regional role in April.

Vijay will take on the role of general manager for channel and alliances in the conglomerate’s IT division in the Pacific region, representing APC by Schneider Electric.

“The ICT sector is becoming more important than ever in enabling our digital economy, with the workforce expected to grow by 100,000 in the next five years. Now, more than ever, the channel needs to ensure we are meeting the demands and needs of our customers in this rapidly growing and evolving market,” Vijay said.

“In order to stay competitive, channel companies need to upskill our workforces, differentiate our offerings, and focus on growing key relationships to maximise profitability. My aim is to drive APC by Schneider Electric’s partner-centric channel strategy to align with this rapidly growing and increasingly vital market.”

Vijay was most recently the commercial director of NTT Communications’ ICT Solutions business in Australia, and also held two other director positions since joining the company in 2013.

He also worked at Harbour MSP for close to eight years, serving as general manager for sales for the latter half of his stint there.

“Both our IT and electric distribution channels are extremely important to us at APC by Schneider Electric, and this is reflected in the strong relationships we have built with our partners. We will continue to invest heavily to ensure we are constantly supporting our partners with high value solutions to complement their offerings,” Schneider Electric vice president of IT division and strategic segments Joe Craparotta said.

“I am confident Joseph will excel in this role helping our partners across the Pacific with programs and initiatives that drive partner profitability and overall business growth. IT partners can leverage the increasing IoT-driven demands on edge computing to capture revenue opportunities with both on-premise and off-premise infrastructure.”
