The agreement will see e.sens become an exclusive SAS solutions reseller in the Australian market. Janice Willemsen, alliances and channels director at SAS Australia said: “The additional resources and expertise which e.sens brings to bear will win us new-name SAS customers in the SMB sector we have not traditionally addressed and also help us increase our revenues earned through the channel.”
This sentiment was reiterated by Neil Currie, chief executive officer at e.sens who sees opportunity in the local SMB space for SAS product offerings.
“SAS has been very strong in the higher end of the market, the announcement of the reseller program and the release of products targeted specifically at that channel and [SMB] section of the market provide a greenfields opportunity for a company willing to invest and target that sector,” he explained.
He added that partnering with e.sens was a strategic move by SAS to boost its presence in Victoria, NSW and ACT. The reseller is also bringing the backing of the UXC Group to the table, which SAS will benefit from locally.
“The strong growth of SAS over the last few years has left them with a need to extend their sales capability,” said Currie. “We have significantly increased the size of the organisation in the last few months and the ability to resell product provides a broader framework to continue that growth.”
This comes off the back of UXC's recent acquisition of Getronics Australia, the ASX-listed services company's largest to date.
e.sens currently employs 15 SAS specialists and will be recruiting a further five. The team will operate Australia-wide, working alongside SAS staff out of SAS and UXC offices.
“In November last year we started recruiting to be able to drive the initiative forward adding sales people in Victoria, NSW and recently ACT,” said Currie.
