Software giant SAP has named Mark Hettler as its new channel chief for Australia and New Zealand, replacing Sam Henderson, who was promoted to an Asia-Pacific and Japan role earlier this year.
Hettler has been with SAP for more than a decade, and steps up from his current role as SAP's head of cloud delivery to his new position as head of partners and channels for ANZ.
He will be responsible for driving and growing revenue opportunities for the region’s partner ecosystem, as well as partner recruitment and activation.
Hettler reports to the company’s ANZ chief operating officer, Pete Andrew, with a dotted line to Ben Corser, SAP head of partner management and channels for APJ.
“Mark has assumed an expanded partner and channel role in Australia and New Zealand,” an SAP spokesperson told CRN.
“This is in line with the focus we place on our channel partners for demand creation, sales and delivery success in ANZ.”
Henderson, meanwhile, was promoted in April to senior director of partner management and channels for SAP’s Asia Pacific and Japan business.
He is responsible for the company’s relationships with Microsoft, Google and AWS in the region.
In February, SAP hired former Oracle channel chief Patricia Nance as its vice president of strategic partners for Asia-Pacific and Japan. She manages the company’s Accenture partnership across the region.
Last week, the company unveiled a new suite of cloud-based CRM applications, incorporating technology from several recent acquisitions and a comprehensive package of data management tools to help businesses deal with data sprawl.
SAP also closed down its Anywhere small business focused CRM cloud service in March, after only managing to garner 30 active customers after two years on the market.
