Samsung will kick customers who are still using Galaxy Note7s off mobile network services in Australia starting from 15 December.
The smartphone vendor is working with local telecommunications operators to discontinue services for the phones, which was officially scrapped in October to due fire hazard risks. Samsung extended the recall to Australia, which also included replacement devices.
As a further safety precaution, last month Samsung pushed out an update for the remaining Note7s which limits the maximum battery charge to 60 percent.
Samsung said that only a small number of affected devices remained unaccounted for, and urged anyone still using the Note7 to return it to where it was purchased for a refund.
Customers that comply with the return can exchange their Note7 for a Samsung Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 Edge and receive a refund for the difference between prices as well as a "specific partner offer" worth $250. The offer ends on 22 December.
