Samsung Australia has extended the Galaxy Note7 recall to include all Note7 devices including those used as replacement for the first batch of smartphones.
The announcement comes after Samsung Electronics decided to stop Galaxy Note7 production.
"Customers in Australia who have a Galaxy Note7, both an original device purchased before 5 September 2016 or a new replacement Galaxy Note 7 device, should power down their phone and contact their original place of purchase," the vendor announced.
Samsung Australia is working with its operator and retail partners to ensure customers get a full refund or are able to exchange for the previous model, Galaxy S7 or S7 edge.
The vendor also advised customers to back up their data and perform a full factory reset to delete all personal information before returning the devices.
Customers should contact the retailers or Samsung customer service on 1300 362 603 or online here.
Richard Fink, Samsung Australia vice president IT and mobile, said: "We know our Galaxy Note customers are among our most loyal customers and we sincerely apologise to them".
