Samsung reveals new Notebooks

Samsung has improved on the already impressive Series 5 and Series 9 Notebook ranges and just unveiled them at CES.

The new Series 9 Notebook is 21 percent thinner than its predecessor and despite also being 28 percent smaller overall, it still has a stunning aluminum unibody. The Series 9 manages a sturdy 10 hours battery life even with the 13.3 or 15in SuperBright Plus screens and second generation Intel Core Procesors. Oh and it boots it around only 9 seconds.

The Samsung Series 5 Ultrabook is pretty, sure. And yeah it has the power of Intel i5 in both 13.3 and 14in models. But somehow Samsung has also managed to cram in a DVD drive. Take that MacBook Air.

The Series 9 will be out in February at $US1,400 and $1,500 for the 13.3in and 15in models respectively. The 13in Series 5 with a 500GB hard drive will be US$900, or with 128GB SSD, $1,100 – both are due out at the end of January. The 14in, due out around March, should start at $950.
