Launched in November 2008, the F480 has been growing in popularity, with this month's results proving its design and features have appealed to Australians.
Tyler McGee, vice president of Telecommunications, Samsung Australia is delighted with the success of the handset.
"Since its launch, the F480 has proven to be a favourite among consumers and we're very excited to see how well it's doing in a strong and competitive market," he said.
"The success of the F480 alongside the renowned Samsung OMNIA and newly launched Samsung UltraTOUCH cements our leadership position in the touch segment and we anticipate this to continue through the year with the imminent arrival of our second half 2009 range to be announced at CommunicAsia on June 16th."
Worldwide, the Samsung F480 has sold in excess of six million units.
McGee said both the global and local success can be attributed to Samsung's technology which he said is easy to use, packed with the latest features including a 5 megapixel camera, high speed internet access and MP3 player.
It is available in silver, pink and gold.
