Data communications integrator Rosser Communications has used its acquisition of Microsoft reseller Nettis Global Solutions to form a new systems division.
The acquisition adds a server hardware and services business to Rosser’s existing core data communications practice.
For the past four years, Rosser has had a business relationship with Nettis, exchanging leads and providing sub-contracting services to each other.
Rosser staff would now be “keeping their eyes open” for server upgrade opportunities, said Tim Rosser, managing director at the integrator.
As part of the acquisition Rosser had taken on subcontractors and two full-time Nettis employees.
Nettis co-director Job Ching would head up the new systems division. His former partner Gleuto Serafim left the company around 12 months ago to take a job with ASX-listed company Sonnet Corporation.
”Our strategy going forward will be to offer a broader range of services and hardware. Nettis had a good practice around preventative server maintenance and had a relationship with Dicker Data for HP server systems,” Rosser said.
Rosser is also now a Microsoft Certified partner with three certified engineers. Nettis was working on one server project worth $300,000 which Rosser hoped would materialise by the end of Q1.
Rosser would also move from Pymble to bigger premises in North Ryde, Rosser said. Further acquisitions were planned in Brisbane and Melbourne in order to get the ‘critical mass’ required in those cities, he said.
Meanwhile, Rosser was travelling well and expected to do around $4 million in sales revenue this financial year.
It had recently picked up a six figure order for Packeteer hardware and services with a big five accounting firm and was now certified in Cisco’s IP telephony products with the intention to relaunch a practice in that area, he said.
