Software testing and management provider Revolution IT has for the first time made its HP software range available as a subscription service to customers.
Software from HP's Quality, Performance, Security and Business Availability centres, as well as Project and Portfolio management were included in the new REVFLEX service.
"Each centre is a range of products that customers had to go out and buy licenses around. Now customers can use it when they want to and pay in a subscription type model. It's flexible," Jamie Duffield, director at Revolution IT, told CRN.
Duffield said the service was aimed at "clients that can't afford to have an outlay of perpetual licences".
The 2009 CRN Fast50 No.15's vendor partners include HP, SAP, IBM, and attask. However, at this stage Duffield said "it will only offer HP software as a service".
"It's based on our client needs, they want access to flexible pricing options and HP came to the party.
"The REVFLEX service is available as one month, three month and one year subscription. For example the Quality centre costs $29 a day for five users for 12 months.
"There's also many different ways you can slice it up and it goes cheaper than that," he said.
Duffield said Revolution IT was HP's Asia Pacific partner of the year in the software space and it provided first line support for HP.
"It's hosted in Australia by HP. We add the testing, IP and expertise around making this software work. Any bit of software is as good as who is driving," he said.
