Intelligent information governance platform RecordPoint has appointed Brett Hooker as its first chief operating officer (COO), as the company accelerates its global growth strategy.
Hooker spent more than a decade in leadership roles at TechnologyOne and was most recently the CEO of Sunshine Coast-based ZONE RV.
As COO, Hooker will take ownership of RecordPoint’s end-to-end operational functions.
His mandate includes optimising internal systems and processes, strengthening delivery capabilities, and aligning cross-functional teams to drive greater efficiency, accountability, and performance at scale.
He will work closely with the company’s executive leadership across product, finance, technology, and marketing.
“Brett’s experience will be invaluable as we continue our growth both here in Australia and abroad. Brett’s work will be essential in keeping us on course and delivering for our customers," said Anthony Woodward, CEO and co-founder of RecordPoint.
“I’ve spent my career scaling enterprise software companies, and I see RecordPoint as uniquely positioned to lead the next wave of growth in information governance—particularly as it becomes a foundational step in harnessing the power of AI," said Hooker.
“The company has built an exceptional product, an experienced leadership team, and a strong customer base. I’m excited to help scale the systems, teams, and culture needed to take it to the next level.”
The appointment comes amid significant momentum for RecordPoint. Today, more than 8 million pieces of data flow through its platform each day, surpassing the volume of daily transactions processed by NASDAQ. This milestone reflects the growing demand for robust data governance solutions as businesses grapple with increasingly complex regulatory landscapes and data risk exposure.
RecordPoint’s client base includes Australia’s largest banks - Westpac, NAB, and Macquarie - as well as critical regulatory bodies such as APRA and ASIC.
Hooker’s appointment follows the recent acquisition of Redactive, an Australian AI startup specialising in sensitive data discovery and classification.
RecordPoint has also launched new products, including RexCommand, a freemium shadow AI detection tool, introduced to help enterprises identify unauthorised AI tools being used within their workforce.
RexCommand forms part of RecordPoint’s growing AI Governance Suite, which is already being deployed across a range of sectors including banking, insurance, and government.
Looking ahead, RecordPoint is actively expanding into Asia and Europe, building on its entry into the United States.
