Perth-based backup and recovery specialist Probax has appointed former Inabox sales manager Sam Meegahage as its new chief executive, as founder and former managing director Kevin Allan transitions into a chief technology officer role.
Allan established Probax in 2008 and served as managing director for more than nine years. Allan was also focused on major technical projects during this period, including major contributions to Probax's backup, automation, and disaster recovery products for MSPs. The executive also built international ties with partners in North America, South Africa and the UK.
Meegahage joins from Inabox, where he was the national sales manager for SME, having worked up to the role after joining Inabox in late 2015. Meegahage also worked for Anittel for six years and undertook a brief stint at Accord Technologies.
Meegahage said Probax had achieved great success in a small amount of time.
"I"m excited to join the team as CEO and I'm looking forward to working closely with our customers and partners," he said. "Kevin has developed a high-quality disaster recovery and cloud storage offering and I'm looking forward to bringing these solutions to more MSPs across the globe.
Allan said he was very excited to see Meegahage join the team.
"Sam has extensive experience in the industry and he has a proven track record of strategic and operational leadership, delivering outstanding results during his time at Anittel and Inabox group," Allan said.
"I expect this to be a seamless transition, and I will remain heavily involved in the company, focusing my efforts on driving product innovation and development."
