Primus puts a lid on call costs

Primus Telecom has announced new capped prices to local, national, international and calls to mobiles.

For those bundling their eligible broadband or dial-up Internet service with Primus, the telco now offers three bundled-price plans.

They range from $15 for $50 worth of local, national, fixed to mobile and international calls to a $35 plan that includes $120 worth of calls and a $65 plan that includes $250 worth of calls.

For those who don’t bundle, the HomeCap rates are $25 for $50 worth of calls, $45 for $120 worth of calls, and $75 for $250 worth of calls.

These call costs are based upon Primus’s current rates including 17 cent local calls, national calls at 17 cents a minute, and international call charges based on Primus’s Name-a-Nation rates.

The HomeCap plan is available without a lock-in contract. The standard line rental of $29.95 a month applies and some call types, such as premium rate and 13 numbers, are excluded.

The introduction of HomeCap follows Primus’ recent launch of TalkBroadband, a VoIP service using broadband instead of traditional copper lines.
