Detail's of Microsoft's first ever high definition webcam have been leaked by UK-based online electronic retailer Play.com, weeks ahead of the official launch date.
Microsoft's 720p HD webcam has been previewed by the press non-disclosure agreements preventing sale or publication until September 9th.
But Play.com had already started advertising the product for sale even before Microsoft admitted publically that it exists.
The retailer has since taken the page advertising the product offline. But thanks to the wonder of Google cache, the original page advertising the product can be seen here. The updated page appears here.
A Play.com spokesman said Microsoft dispatched the advert to the online retailer, neglecting to mention the embargo.
