Pivotel finalises acquisition of Swoop's wholesale voice business

Telecommunications provider Pivotel has announced it has finalised its acquisition of Swoop's wholesale voice and messaging business.

The completed transaction includes three subsidiaries: Voicehub Group Pty Ltd, Voicehub Pty Ltd and Harbourtel Pty Ltd.

Swoop had agreed to divest of VoiceHub to Pivtoel for $9 million in June 2024.

Pivotel said the acquisition will provide the opportunity to enhance its wholesale service offerings by integrating VoiceHub’s voice, messaging and number management capabilities.

This will provide Pivotel with a more diversified range of services across fixed and mobile voice origination and termination, messaging services, and enhanced connectivity options, including voice and messaging services with virtual numbers, the company said.

“Today, we welcome VoiceHub into the Pivotel fold. This acquisition represents a strategic step forward in our mission to provide comprehensive, high-quality communication solutions," said Peter Bolger, CEO of Pivotel.

"The investment reinforces Pivotel's desire to expand its market leading wholesale voice and messaging services across Australia and New Zealand. By combining our strengths with VoiceHub’s expertise, we are well-positioned to meet the evolving needs of our wholesale partners and expand our market reach."

Hamish Priddle, who joins Pivotel from VoiceHub as general manager, head of voice, said “It’s an exciting time for VoiceHub."

"In becoming part of the Pivotel Wholesale team, we have an opportunity to ramp up our support for customers as they expand their business in cloud and virtual voice communications."

"Our customers will benefit from an expanded range of services that combine the strengths of both companies as we look to stay ahead of industry trends and evolving customer needs, ensuring access to cutting-edge solutions that support their long-term success.”
