Pioneer Computers signs up as Microsoft direct OEM partner
Under the agreement, Pioneer will be able to offer its range of 'build to order' range of hardware with a direct license from Microsoft.

Jeff Li, managing director at Pioneer Computers Australia said Microsoft Windows offers greater compatibility with its device drivers.

"With the products available on the Windows platform it gives our channel partners more opportunities to up-sell and to improve on their margins.”

Li claimed by signing up with Microsoft, Pioneer can now match its leading edge hardware configuration and design capabilities with the leading operating system software.

“Our computers are also Microsoft Office Ready PCs. They come pre-installed with a 60 day trial version of Microsoft Office Professional 2007,” he said.

“This can easily be converted into a full version so that users are offered the most cost effective way of purchasing Office 2007 with their new PC’s.”

With the support of Microsoft, the whitebox builder has scaled up its server offerings.

“DreamMicro servers are offered on a ‘build to order’ basis, with specifications to suit any industry, including offerings for the education market,” said Li.

“Microsoft’s Windows Server products are available on these servers. “

Pioneer partners will be able to offer Windows operating systems to their overseas customers.

“Chinese customers can get their Windows in the Chinese version and Dubai customers in their Middle East version,” he said.
