The three day event saw channel partners participate in group activities including golf, sailing and drumming as well as a chance to attend seminars on Juniper's strategy, R&D and Innovation Strategy.

There were sessions on the Distributed Enterprise Solution and Simplifying Data Centre Networks culminating in two awards given to Avnet as Juniper Distributor of the Year and Alphawest, J-Partner of the Year A/NZ.

Shaun Page, regional vice president A/NZ Juniper Networks said the Summit was a chance for executives and channel management staff to meet their partners and to share ideas about opportunities in the market.

The awards were based on a combination of the revenue contribution that partners made over the past 12 months and Year on Year growth.

"This event was a 'must do' in the face of everything that is going on because we are 100 percent channel enabled," said Page.

"The J-Partner Summit was successful in getting the message across to a lot of our partners and many have approached me wanting more information about independent studies we have commissioned, the benefits of Junos and the data around channel profitability.

"We struck a cord with everyone and it was a terrific opportunity to network."

Companies that attended the J-Partner Summit were; Alphawest, Telstra, IBM, TelstraClear, TLC IT Group, Frontline, ETM Group, Westcon Group, Exchange, KLIKON, NEC Australia, Ingram Micro NZ,
Orange Business Services, Nokia Siemens, Zintel, ICT Networks, 3d Networks, NSN, Netsolutions Australia and Comlinx.
