The CRN Awards will be held on Friday at the Shangri-La Hotel in Sydney and hosted by ABC radio presenter, Adam Spencer.
“I hope the channel folk present will once again dig deep and help us raise some much-needed funds for the Cancer Council of Australia,” said Helen Frost, CRN editor.
“Last year we were able to give a massive $70,000 to this great cause thanks to the generosity of the channel,” she added.
Combining both a silent auction and a live auction, the charity element of the night is an integral part of the CRN Awards.
Last year, the table sales from the night, as well as the proceeds of the auction, brought in approximately $62,500, and Jeremy Vaughan, Haymarket Media’s managing director rounded up that amount to $70,000 on behalf of the company.
Top-selling items included a Rolling Stones-signed Fender electric guitar, which went for $10,000 and a Roger Federer-signed tennis racket going for an enormous $15,000.
In the Live auction this year, some of the other prizes include;a signed and framed official Puma boot by PELE, the king of football.
A Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal double-signed and framed photographic piece - featuring two tennis balls hand-signed by the world number one and two ranked players.
For the silent auction there is; a signed photograph from the all time leading Australian run scorer Allan Border, a signed and framed two photo piece of the actress Angelina Jolie, a Batman ‘Triple Dose’ including a signed photo of Batman star Christian Bale, framed with Heath Ledger as ‘The Joker’.
