VoIP provider ISPhone Australasia has completed the initial phase of a major network upgrade.
The firm has completing the first stage of a planned three month network expansion which has seen ISPhone upgrade its existing IP and voice infrastructure plus the addition of an Adelaide Point of Presence (POP).
ISPhone has partnered with networking giant Cisco to use its routers and switches in the network upgrade. Through a funding agreement with Cisco Capital, ISPhone has rolled out equipment and services to the value of $250,000 completing the first phase of the network upgrade.
ISPhone expects the total network upgrade to be completed in the next three months, comprising a total of $2 million in Cisco hardware and services and providing the company will a full national footprint.
James Spenceley, chief technology officer at ISPhone said having the backing of Cisco reinforces ISPhone’s reputation.
“Having Cisco supporting the continued development of our telecommunications network enables us to offer a full range of services to complement and enhance our carrier grade VoIP solution.
“Our goal is to be the wholesale VoIP carrier of choice for ISPs, VoIP providers and corporates. By partnering with Cisco for our national network we can leverage their leadership in the IP and voice marketplace, leading to better solutions and a superior grade of network for our customers,” added Spenceley.
