Peacock Group opens 8,000 sqm facility to unite Melbourne operations

Peacock Group is consolidating its Victorian operations into a new purpose-built 8,000 sqm facility in Dandenong South, bringing its Peacock Bros. and insignia businesses together for the first time under a single Melbourne base.

Peacock Group is a fifth-generation, privately-owned Australian business. Its operating brands - Peacock Bros., insignia and AMR Hewitts - deliver technology, identification, labelling, packaging, automation and software solutions to customers across Australia and New Zealand.

The move will increase the group's combined warehouse and production footprint by approximately 66%, with around 56% more production space than its current sites. Around 150 employees from Knoxfield and Oakleigh will progressively relocate to the new facility.

Employees currently based at Knoxfield will move first, with the Peacock Bros. Oakleigh team following in early 2027. Peacock Group said it plans to officially open the facility in the first half of 2027.

A central feature of the new site will be the Peacock Group Solutions Centre, a purpose-built customer experience space showcasing the group's full range of capabilities - including mobile computing, barcode scanning, printing and labelling, coding and marking, RFID, software and data capture.

AMR Hewitts, the group's packaging arm, will continue to operate from its Tullamarine location but will have its solutions represented in the centre.

"Bringing our Oakleigh and Knoxfield teams together is a significant step forward for Peacock Group and for how we work together as one team," said Ryan McGrath, chief executive of Peacock Group.

"We've taken the time to find a site that works for our people and our current operations, while giving us the space and flexibility to support where we want to take the business in the future."

The centre will also serve as a dedicated collaboration space for Peacock Group and its technology partners. Target verticals include manufacturing, warehousing, transport and logistics, retail, food and beverage, pharmaceutical, beauty and healthcare.

Last year, Peacock Bros. launched an all-in-one warehouse optimisation solution.
