Panasonic to launch premium smartphone at MWC

The Eluga isn't the only smartphone Panasonic's showing off at Mobile World Congress next week – Panny reportedly has a more premium smartphone to reveal to the world.

Details are scarce on the new Android handset, which will reportedly feature a bigger screen along with a front-facing camera. Intriguingly, according to Pocket-Lint's source, the phone will not use an OLED display, instead packing a new screen technology designed by Panasonic.

The as-yet-unnamed smartphone will also use Lumix technology from Panasonic's line of cameras – though the specifics are still a mystery.

Panasonic's also planning to launch a new consumer tablet in 2012, which is expected to be rather less rough-and-ready than its Toughbook H2 slate.

We'll be bringing you all the news from MWC next week – and we'll definitely be heading down to Panasonic's stand to ferret out the latest info on its new mobile devices. Watch this space.
