Optus reveals 800-person Skype for Business rollout

Optus is rolling out Skype for Business to more than 800 Australian staff of commercial and residential real estate consultancy Knight Frank.

It's the second Skype for Business rollout for a property business announced this month, with Modality Systems also announcing a rollout for Savills.

The rollout has begun in Brisbane and Sydney offices, and will soon be extended to Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide.

Optus, which was already Knight Frank’s telco provider, is also deploying its own Optus Business Voice over IP (VoIP) services, mobile devices and headsets for legacy phones.

The carrier consulted on the telecommunications architecture design, the devices required, implementation and end-user training.

Knight Frank already uses Skype for Business throughout its global business.

The real estate firm’s information technology director Kathleen Stubbs said that using Optus gave “peace of mind” because it meant working with a single provider.
